The shocking events in this story are based on historical precedent. In a variety of cultures "Human" Sacrifices were made to appease Gods, the powers that be, and in this case Fate. The value of the Sacrifice was a matter of chance. Sometimes the people/Shifters got what they were seeking. Other times they figured the Sacrificed person was in fact defective or deficient in some manner giving the leaders or sloothsayers a way out.In this story Tuomo an unmated Omega who at the "old" age of 25 would be the perfect Sacrificial victim. All the packs who attended the usually festive annual Clan Gathering had noticed how there was barely any game to be caught, that the crops grew poorly, and that the ground dry from a drought. The old legends said an Omega Sacrificed on a specific Mountain, during the full moon was supposed to bring prosperity to all the packs scattered throughout the Clan's territory.
Tuomo had been talked into how much the Clan would benefit from his Honorable Act. All the other Omegas were already mated with pups. His virginal status would please Fate even more. And grant them all a bountiful harvest, and plentiful game. Feeling pressured, depressed, alone, very lonely, and at the same time Honored and Happy he'd be Remembered for Helping the entire Clan Tuomo agreed.
But it seems Fate is a bit fickled and doesn't appreciate mere Shifters interpreting her desires. So during his last days of life she sent Tuomo an Alpha mate. In the old days, in times of trouble the packs would make a sacrifice of an um-mate Omega. In Isaiah’s clan land, the rains have stopped and food is sparse. A pack gathering should be a joyous occasion, celebrating Isaiah’s 70th birthday. But all is not right and for some reason Tuomo has been getting special treatment. Tuomo is a 25-year-old un-mated Omega and has no clue as to what is to happen until Isaiah tells him and asks he help his pack out. Resultantly agreeing before he knew what he agreed to. Haskel is an Alpha who lives on the borders of two different pack lands and rarely come to these gatherings. When he and his Betas find out about the sacrifice to take place they feel it’s wrong but can’t do anything about it. They decide to go see this brave Omega only then does it hit Haskel who this Omega is to him. This is a very entertaining story that is very well written and enjoyable to read.
This author’s stories are unique, wavering off the beaten path of the traditional paranormal tales, mostly in the fact that there are no female shifters, and that the omega males, with the help of their alpha mates, are the only ones able to reproduce. In this story, we find Tuomo, an unmated omega only because he has yet to meet his fated alpha, caught in a situation that he truly doesn’t understand. It confuses him that he is being treated as a royal, that is, until his clan alpha, Isaiah, takes him aside and tells him what is expected of him.
Haskel, an alpha male, has come to the clan’s land, along with a few betas from his pack, to join in the festivities celebrating the clan leader, Isaiah’s, 70th birthday, only to find no celebration to speak of. It is here that his keen sense of smell has him following an unknown trail, one that he suspects will lead him to his fated mate….finally.
What happens when they finally meet will have you on the edge of your chair, biting your nails, waiting to find out what the outcome will be. If you have enjoyed this author’s work before, and even if you haven’t, you won’t want to miss this one, as Abraham has added a special twist to this one.

This is the seventh book in the Fated and Dominated Series. I loved this book. I loved how much emotion this book pulled from me, even though I knew it was going to have a happy ending it still had the power to make me feel sad and cry for all that Tuomo had to go through in order to get to be with his mate. Tuomo was okay with being sacrificed to the shifter gods until he found his mate and realized that it didn’t matter if he wanted to live anymore because the clan alpha Isaiah didn’t care about him at all. It made him incredibly sad when he realized that nobody from his pack would stick up for him or help him escape his fate. I loved that his mate was able to save him and that they got their happily ever after. I loved that they had to struggle to get there it made their relationship stronger. I can’t wait to see what Abraham Steele writes next. I received this free book in exchange for an honest review.
